Dear Friends,
When Jesus sat beside the Samaritan woman at the well, His words carried a tenderness that still reaches into the weary, dry places of the human heart: “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” John 4:10 (NLT)
In that single sentence, He awakened more than her thirst—He stirred her curiosity and captured her attention. He opened her heart to the possibility that God was nearer, kinder, and more generous than she had ever believed.
And this is what He is doing again in our day. He is stirring a fresh curiosity about what is possible with Him, breathing new desire into weary souls, and inviting us to rediscover the joy of a living, loving relationship with Him. Isaiah 55:6 calls for us to: Seek the LORD while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. (NLT)
There is a nearness in this moment that is calling us not to settle for what is, but to reach for what could be. This is not about getting our hopes up only to be dashed; it is about allowing God to breathe fresh hope into the places that have grown tired. It is the invitation to lift our eyes from the ordinary and see the new possibilities that rise when God draws near.
THE DAWN OF SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING
The specific word Jesus used for “knew” in this passage describes far more than intellectual information. It speaks of a revelation that suddenly dawns upon the heart—the kind of understanding that allows us to finally see what has been standing right in front of us all along.
Jesus was essentially saying: “If you could see with spiritual eyes, if you truly recognized what heaven is offering you right now, you would ask, and I would give.”The gift is completely generous, unearned, and undeserved, yet still offered with a lavishness that reveals a God who never holds anything back.
The original word for “ask” carries the absolute confidence of a child approaching a loving Father. Jesus does not hide this precious gift, nor does He wait for us to get our act together before offering it. He hands it freely to anyone who simply asks.
This remains the intense longing of heaven for us today. Many believers sincerely love God, yet live completely unaware of the vast spiritual inheritance we carry. We believe, but we do not always possess. This is not out of rebellion, but simply because we do not realize what is already available to us.
Yet Jesus still beacons us: “If you only knew… if you only knew the depth of My presence, the joy of My communion, the strength that flows from My nearness, and the absolute peace that settles the soul, you would not hesitate at the threshold but enter into all the goodness I have for you.”
RECLAIMING HOLY DESIRE
There is a surprising financial reality in today’s world. Every single state treasury holds millions of dollars in unclaimed property. These funds legally belong to everyday individuals, families, or businesses, yet many rightful owners have absolutely no idea the wealth exists. It might be a forgotten savings account, an uncashed check, or an insurance refund that never found its destination. Because the owner cannot be located, the assets sit dormant. The money is legally theirs; it simply remains unclaimed.
I remember learning about this nearly thirty years ago. My husband and I had moved frequently from state to state, and I felt a sudden prompting that something might have slipped through the cracks. When I contacted the state treasury, they discovered several cash amounts waiting for us. We had no idea those funds existed, yet there they were—held safely, just waiting for us to claim them.
Just like unclaimed money waiting in a state vault, our spiritual inheritance waits securely in the heart of God. There are places in our lives where joy once lived but has grown quiet. Places where peace once ruled but has been overshadowed by daily worry. Places where passion once burned hot but has cooled with the passage of time.
Often, we do not realize that these treasures have quietly slipped away until a sudden trial reveals the inner emptiness. Yet God knows exactly where every single lost thing is. He calls us to seek Him as a vital necessity, not because He is hiding from us, but because seeking Him actively awakens our spiritual awareness.
‘…Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ says the Lord… Jeremiah 29:13–14 (AMP)
Seeking positions us to reclaim what we did not realize we had lost. Just as you must search a database to discover what worldly property belongs to you, you must search the heart of Scripture to discover what God has been holding for you. The exact moment you ask, seek, and knock, the door swings open.
There is a fresh stirring in this hour, a quiet awakening reminding us that nothing God has promised has slipped beyond reach. The living water Jesus offered the woman at the well is the same water He offers us today—restoring what has grown faint and reviving what has gone quiet.
If you only knew what He is holding for you in this very moment, your heart would rise with courage to ask again. Today, lift your eyes. Lean in. Let hope breathe. The One who meets us at the well is still near, still generous, and still ready to pour living water into every thirsty place.

HAVE YOU BEEN BORN AGAIN?
Jesus replied, I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ John 3:5-7 (NLT)
To begin a born again life of purpose and fulfillment, all that is needed at this point is to believe and surrender—believe that God is bigger than your sins as well as other people’s sins against you. He is infinitely greater than your anger, despair, pain, and misery. God is so much bigger than what man’s religion has portrayed Him to be. He can take your life, as small and insignificant as you think it is, and transform it to factory-new status. God doesn’t just make you a better person; he makes you a BRAND-NEW person!
1 Corinthians 5:17 says, This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (NLT) When we become born again, we are no longer adrift in life, as we now have solid direction and purpose. If you want to be born anew, without putting it off another minute, you can pray the following prayer and be assured of eternal salvation. Also, attend a good church whenever possible to learn more about Jesus and spiritually grow.
PRAYER FOR SALVATION
Dear Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I accept your sacrifice on the Cross as payment for my sins. I ask you to forgive my sins, come into my heart, make me a new person, and give me eternal life. I ask that you would be my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord, for giving me newness of life! Help me now, Lord, to be honest with you, myself, and others. Create in me a clean heart and cause me to be willing to obey you in everything! Amen.
